You can cancel your energy contract at any time, however, there may be exit fees depending on what energy supplier you are with.

Unfortunately, business energy suppliers do not offer dual fuel deals. When you get a gas and electricity contract from the same supplier you will need to bear in mind that these are two separate contracts.

With a business energy contract, there is more to consider than just the price. You need to consider a lot more such as customer service, length of contract and terms.

Your energy contract or a recent energy bill should tell you when your contract end date is. If you don’t have either you need to get in touch with your energy supplier to find this information. It is important to start looking at securing new prices as early as possible before your current contract ends.

Both will be able to be found on your most recent energy bills. If you don’t have a recent energy bill and you are not sure who your supplier is, you can find out by getting in touch with your local Distribution Network Operator (DNO). You can use Find My Supplier to find out who supplies your gas along with your MPRN. To find your Electricity supplier you need to get in touch with the DNO.

Around 49 days before your contract end date you will get a notification from your energy supplier that will mean you a free to switch without any exit fees. However, we would suggest looking at prices much before this time or getting in touch with one of our consultants so we can help you with the best time to switch.

If your contract has expired, then you need to sign with another supplier as soon as possible. Out of contract rates are very expensive and will mean your business is paying far more than it needs to for its energy. If you are out of contract, we would suggest getting a quote from us today.

If you wish to terminate your contract early, then your supplier will most likely charge you exit fees for doing so. It may be best to wait until your contract expires before switching over. However, you can secure your new rates up to one year before your contract ends, therefore you can try to ensure you go onto cheaper rates when your current contract ends.
